Re: A Question Toliem Fri Feb 8 13:08:28 2002 Morning,*br*I am aware of the points you brought up as to the gifts, cities, masters, and direction from which the TDD is said to have arrived on the shore of Ireland, along with the Daghdas club. *p*I though am not exactly sure what this person's thoughts are to his term of necromancy. Here is what was posted upon a list I subscribe to. I would have posted this question onto that same list but you never seem to get a prompt responce, or one that half explains your question. This thread is a follow up to a question posted about a month back as to Irelands Sleeping Warriors. Besides my responce to that main question this is the only other responce that has shown.*p*"as regards the Tuatha Dé, both they and the Fir Bolg was descended from the Nuemdeains (ok my spellin is bad and i'm typin this from memory)*br*these been earlier inhabitants of Ireland who had been basically wiped out by Plague and who were buried at Tamhlacht (burial mound of plague victims) or Tallaght as it's now known (part of dublin with population of around 90,000). anyway the survivours left Ireland and spilt into 2 groups. The 1st to return were the Fir Bolg, the people that became the Tuatha Dé travelled far and wide, eventually settling in Scythia and then Greece where they learned the true art of necromancing, they were forced to leave due to the war of the persians and the greeks, by this stage they had learned magic were masters in necromancry. They return to Ireland on flying ships led by their king Nuadha bringing the Lia Fáil (stone of destiny) which screamed aloud when the rightful king stood on it, along with the Cliamh Solais (sword of light) from which none could escape, the Spear of Lugh which hungered and thirsted for slaughter, and the Cauldron of the Dagdha which fed all that came before it.*br* They demanded that the Fir Bolg (who were there won kindred) give up the land of Ireland. This was refused and ended in war.*br* i'll give more detail of this later but i've forgotten the key names of characters (on the Fir Bolg side anyway). needless to say the war ended at the 1st battle of Maigh Tura (plain of towers) with the defeat of the Fir Bolg, though Nuadha lost his arm and thus his kingdom (due to the fact he wasn't physically perfect).*br*Lugh the Ildanach (all skillful one) made his 1st apperance in this part of the story. He was the son of Cian (son of Dál Ciacht {leach the healer and of Eithne daughter of Balor of the evil eye the spiritual leader of the Formorians (their king been Conan).*br*anyway i'll go and read the "Leabhair Gabhala na hÉireann" (book of Invasions) again b4 i contuine on the subject."*p*Like I stated this person doesn't give explaination of his thoughts on necromancing. He also states the TDD brought the gifts to the shores of Ireland with them, not that they were presented to them at a later date, as I had always thought. Anyways anyone out there caring to shed light on the subject please continue to do so.*p*Slainte*br*Toliem*p**br* Re: A Question Red Turtle 1038 Fri - Feb 8 - 02:12am 209.255.2.231
