I admit I may be missing a large chunk of essential information , but I don't understand entirely why Spirals are sacred to the Druids & the Celts. I know from reading one of Philip Carr-Gomm's books that it represents the wheel of life. But that is a generalization in his one book. I am seeking a deeper understanding of the symbol as well as the reasons why. I also have have the Mathews' Encyclopaedia of Celtic Wisdom. If there is a reference as to why its is sacred in there I ask that you direct to the section in the book. Thanks!
