In a *br*: sense, they are a part of the larger community of *br*: humanity, or the regional community, but can I *br*: count them as a part of my community- or are they *br*: are a part of my community, in an altruistic *br*: sense, as is all humanity?*p*I'm going to sound harsh here, but the Brehons and Druids banshied people for a reason. There comes a time when no matter the attempts to mainstreem them, they won't do so. Sometimes leaving them in their own juice is the only option. *p*There is only so much you can do at any one time, and once you have reasonably done everythign you can, it's time to let them go to do their own growing and or failing.*p**br*: I would like to pursue what our Laws and own *br*: wisdom texts have to say on the matter, to aid in *br*: my own understanding and perhaps then, thru this *br*: sort of discussion, others can benefit as well. *p*Forgive me, but it sounds like you are looking for "justification" in the law to do something you have already unconsiously decided to do, and to me it seems that you are leaning toward NOT doing so, and are seeking a reason to cop-out.*p*So, here we go. Do it or do it not. It's entirely up to you. You don't need justification or a reason to do so. If you want to, many could benefit, if you are too scared by the prospect, then don't do it at all. You may even think about a half and half situation where they can request a chaplin of pagan beliefs, and the full time chapplins call you to come in for a short term thing. I was an "on call" for the local county lock up, and the surrounding counties. I also was going into the hospitals and doing the same thing. It may be something you look at.*p*But think about this, if you want to do it, why do you want to? Your growth, the potential benefit to the prisoners, to get in good with the cops, or because you think the Gods told you to do so? Find out and decide who makes the decisions in your life and if the benefit is worth the price you will pay for it in the long run.*p*Daven Re: Druidic Roles in Counseling and Prison Ministry fhionamacg 1114 Sun - Mar 9 - 6:00pm 207.65.28.2
