I have the Matthews' Encyclopaedia of Celtic Wisdom, on page 142 it refers to The Crane Bag. I know this topic has been debated to death on various Druidic & CR lists. But I am looking for a crane bag ritual to do. But I have a question: If cranes are endangered & we can't readily get a crane skin/hide, what would be a suitable substitute??? Some more questions: Does it have to be thick or thin leather? What color does it have to be? Does the bag need to have any special markings on it? How big does it have to be??? Where can it be worn; waist or shoulder??? I would like advice from those who has created one, please. Thanks!!!
