The Cailleach, Blodeuwedd and Connections

Okay...I am working on this far-fetched idea concerning a relationship/correlation between the Irish/Scottish Cailleach and the Welsh Blodeuwedd. *p*Somehow I have gotten it in my head that the story of Blodeuwedd is a tale of the youth cycle of the Cailleach, lost in the Irish and retained only partially (as a sundered fragment of a larger tale) in the Welsh. Now, realize that I have absolutely no scholarly documentation or support for this wild flight of fancy (except certain names)...and I'd really like to try to find some. *p*I'm working on it, but I would enjoy any comments, whether supportive or otherwise, on the concept in the meantime. It may be that I'm totally off base, and if I am, I'd like to hear why. :-) *p*Leigh
