It would also have been very diverse, by necessity, and Searles has a relatively accurate list of subjects, I'm thinking.*p* But somehow I can't imagine a child beginning a formal education at birth, which is what would be required if they were to finish those twenty years that Ceasar talks about by age twenty. :-)*p* I do agree that there must have been some elementary education before moving on to higher education, though.
