Update on Progress: Clans and the Tribe: Aicerno OCathasaigh akiernox_ocasey@hotmail.com Fri Nov 13 17:55:36 1998 This is an accumulation of ideas based on what I have read so far from the Cairdean/Brehon Project page. The other basis for these ideas is a loose assimilation of the structure of ADF.:*p*The tribe = Summerlands, and the basic tribal unit is the clan.*br*The Clan is then divided into guilds.*p*The Tribe: This is the accumulation of the clans that make up the treabh. There is a tribal chieftan or an ard-ri de h-An treabhchas, who is elected to the position by the clans who make up the tribe. The Tribal High Council consists of the ard-ri, Druid, Bard, Musician, and the Clan chieftans. All positions are gained by election of the clans at the Tribal meeting.*p*The Clans: Each clan will composed of a set-up similar to the Tribal High Council and elect a chieftan. However, the chieftan is the Clan representative to the High Council. The Clan Chieftans also act as the brithem for their particular clan, after a case has been seen by the clan druid and appealed, or else brought to the chieftan's attention for a final judgement. The Clan Council, besides the chieftan, also consists of a druid, bard, and musician. Like at the tribal level, these positions are also gained by election. All members of a clan should be knowledgeable in at least one skill that would be of benefit to the Clan to which they belong. Also, each clan should have a representative page for their members...*p*The Guilds: The Clans themselves are to be divided into a series of Guilds. These Guilds will be the specific means of education within a clan. The following are an example of some of the Guild possibilities:*br*The Druid's Guild, The Bardic Guild, The Healers' Guild, The Warriors' Guild, etc. The Guilds could use the existing pages in the Summerlands Tuath.*p*The elections will be discussed in my reply...*p*Go raibh maith agaibh*p*Aicerno OCathasaigh*br*
