Re: Druidic Clothing and Dress Daibhaid obroder@wavegate.com Sun Nov 15 13:35:21 1998 During my confliction time of life, I was an observant practitioner of Judaism. Part of that oberservation was the use of a prayer shawl called a talit. It varies in size, but I always preferred a shawl that measures about 42 ~ 48" wide and 72" long. I have also had occassion in which I have been called on for the performance of office while out and about. Therefore, I am going to be weaving a talit which is composed of the colours as recommended from various writings. That way there is a body of white, with the colours in the border, each coloured band varying in size to give an idea. If folk would like to see the talit I wore, I will be glad to scan a portion of it and email. Also on the cover of this months copy of _Handwoven_ is a wonderfully colourful talit which I think would be of a benefit to us for performance of office when our robes are not at hand. That way the shawl can be carried at all times. Also the corner fringe is historically white with a thread of blue, by way of making this for the use of a druid, I will use a thread of colour of each of the historical colours of druidry. When finished a picture will be posted. *p*Slan,*p*Daibhaid*p*Searles wrote,*br*: The topic of what to wear when practicing Drai/ocht and the *br*: equally varied topic of what the ancient Druids wore when *br*: performing ritual and ceremony is one that is often *br*: discussed among those who follow the ways of Druids. *br*(snipped)*br* Druidic Clothing and Dress Searles 188 Tue Sep 22 15:10:41 1998
