Re: Recommended List of Books Terry treinert@islc.net Sat Sep 11 18:40:40 1999 The list you gave of topics looks great. I personally would add Shamanism. It deals directly with Celtic Druids. It could be considered under the spirituality column but.... Also... I was at a pretty awesome store in Orlando, FL today and one of the ladies that worked there pointed out a series of books written by this one author (I cant remember his name but B&N should help me there) about shamanism and druids. One book is called "The Vision" another is "The Tracker". This guy has a school in Virginia for teaching the ways of the woods and such. Its not just the physical survival of the woods he teaches but the spiritual side of it and everything that pertains there in. I will post again once I get this authors name and more info.*p*Terry*p**p**br*GreyWolf wrote,*br*: A few attempts have been made in the past to come up with a *br*: list of recommended readings for those interested in a *br*: serious course of study of the Celts and the Druids. *br*: However, we have not progressed very far in those attempts. *br*: Recently I have seen several posts asking for a listing of *br*: books that should be read. *br*:*br*: Well, lets get this thing done once and for all.*br*:*br*: I have scheduled a chat on Sept 28th to begin this process. *br*: More will follow.*br*:*br*: What I wish to accomplish on that evening and starting now *br*: via the board, is to come up with the list of topics under *br*: which we need to have books listed.*br*:*br*: Here is an example of what I have in mind.*br*:*br*: We need a list of books that MUST be read to establish a *br*: good solid broad based knowledge background over a variety *br*: of topical areas.*br*:*br*: Examples, *br*: The Druids by Piggott*br*: Celtic Heritage, by Rees & Rees*br*: Early Irish Law by Kelly*br*: Ancient Irish Tales by Cross & Slover*br*: ect, ect, ect*br*:*br*: Beyond this MUST BE READ List of a dozen or so books - I *br*: feel we need the topics lists for further reading in those *br*: areas that any person might be drawn to.*br*:*br*: Once we establish the list of topics, I would like to see 2 *br*: or 3 books listed for each topic broken down by levels:*br*: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced*br*:*br*: Now, we cant just put up a list of book titles, I feel we *br*: must say, in a couple of sentences, why we recommend the *br*: books.
