Re: What is a Druid? Searles O'Dubhain searles@summerlands.com Wed Dec 1 12:03:07 1999 Michael,*p*I completely agree with what you have stated about Druids and their roles within their communities. I think that what starts a Druid on his/her pathway is a quest for truth in spirit. What develops them in their work is the many years of formal and informal study that experience and tradition have to teach for each of us. The outcome of their work is to be seen in the ways that they serve the community and the future of their people.*p*May I have your permission to forward this information to the student seeking information?*p*Searles*p*Michael the Watcher wrote,*br*<snip>*p*: : To add to this answer to the question what is a Druid, I would also venture as far as to say that Druids are mediators, teachers, instructors and guides. Another aspect of their role, in my humble opinion, is to foster harmony within their community and their people, and to work for the betterment of all. This work may take many forms, be it simply leading a good and truthfull life which benefits all around them, or be it more actively involved in community service or fighting for issues such as human rights and the environment, even taking a greater role in clan and family life.*br*: I agree throughly with what Searles said and commend his *br*: response to what can be a tricky question to answer in one *br*: lifetime!*br*:*br*: Under the Oaks and from the Stone, the Watcher and clan, *br*: Australia.*br*: Bye for now.*br*:*br* Re: What is a Druid?
