Re: Triple Aspects Michael the Watcher michael.kriesch@studentmail.newcastle.edu.au Tue Dec 7 07:45:59 1999 Greetings Taliesin_2, regarding Triple aspects, a quick search through my collection of books has revealed references to ample archeological evidence to triple aspects of Gods. These representations take several forms and many appear within the Celtic world. They include a Gaulish*br*Celtic statue of a triple-phallused Mercury like God, a Scotish triple faced stone head from the first century C.E., and a triple Mars like God from Romano-Celtic Britain. I am still searching for actual references to specific deities, the main focus of the search is to look for deities who exhibit various character traits or have tales relating to the three cycles of a Man's life. These cycles are shown in different ways (as with the many variations of the triple Goddess)they include, Boy-Father-King, Warrior-Druid-Producer, even the three forces of esoteric philosophy...active, receptive and unifying, these forces would also appear to be essential qualities of a good King, father, Druid, Craftsman etc, even Gods mayhaps!!! The key may lie in this direction of inquiry.*p*The search continues, Under the Oaks and from the Stone,*br*Michael the Watcher and clan, Bye.*p**p**p**p**p**p**p**p**br*Taliesin_2 wrote,*br*: In references to Triple Goddesses there is a common theme. I *br*: think its*br*: based in Wicca alone, but am not sure. The belief is of a *br*: Maiden, Mother, Crone - the triple aspect of the Goddess. *br*: But since there are*br*: ( a few ) Triple Gods, I am wondering what the equivalent *br*: would be.
