Re: The Ogham Searles Tue Dec 12 09:14:27 2000 Good Day to you Aicerno.*p*The Ogham fidh that you are describing is Ohn (Gorse) and not Ngetal (Reed). The vowells have horizontal lines, while the third aicme of consonants have diagonals (or athwart) lines. Also Ngetal has three lines athwart instead of two, while Ohn has two horizontal lines.*p*In the Ogham system that I've derived and teach, Ohn has the overall meaning of ELOQUENCE.*p*It has the three meanings of UPHOLDING, SUSTAINING and SHAPING according to the briatharogam.*p*The du/ile of Ohn are: *p*Support*br*Maintaining*br*Sustaining*br*Determination*br*Focusing*br*Shaping*br*Persuasion*br*Expression*br*Eloquence*p*To find information on other Ogham systems I recommend the links found at Every Ogham Thing on the Web. The subject is both deep and broad. I think it is a matter of years of study to master. I've provided a link below to their site.*p*Searles*p**br*Aicerno wrote,*br*: dias dhuit A Shearles cad e mar ata tu? I recently did a very *br*: brief reading for a friend, and pulled a few which had two *br*: horizontal cuts running through the center-line, with the *br*: baseline down. I believe it was nGetal, but I've been too *br*: long out of practice.
