One of the things that Jenny is dealing with in her section is 'the Modern Persecutions'. To my way of thinking, THIS type of thing would definitely come under that heading. It's definitely a violation of our rights and just one more sign of religious intolerance.*p*Thanks for bringing this up. I wonder if Tennessee has any such assinine laws on the books?*p*Deborah*p**p*Aodhfionn wrote,*br*: I have found a bit of clarification on this law since my *br*: original post, and thankfully, I have nothing to fear. But *br*: the law is apparently real. It seems to apply only to *br*: custody cases in divorces. According to this law, if one *br*: parent is Christian and the other is not, custody of the *br*: child or children must go to the Christian parent, no matter *br*: any other circumstances.*br*:*br*: While this means that I am safe, as I don't see divorce in *br*: my future, it nonetheless is a law that needs to be *br*: eradicated. It does have an effect on a friend who is going *br*: through a divorce. I know this is the sanctuary board, but *br*: I ask that we all raise our voices against this sort of *br*: persecution.*br* Re: Sudden Fear Aodhfionn 179 Thu Jul 27 20:24:20 2000
