"Ain't Nothing You Can Do" - 8/9/00 Deborah deborah@summerlands.com Wed Aug 9 13:47:28 2000 AIN'T NOTHING YOU CAN DO*p*Jewish humor has it that a rookie recruit for the New York City*br*police had passed all of his examinations except public health.*br*The police surgeon said, "Well, Murphy, you've done very well.*br*I'll ask you one question and if you do all right on that, you*br*can become a cop."*p*He wanted to ask him how he would respond if a rabid dog bit*br*somebody; for instance, how would he treat the victim, whom would*br*he call, and so forth. The doctor said, "Now, tell me, what is*br*rabies, and what are you going to do about it?"*p*"Well, Captain," Murphy replied, "rabies is Jewish priests, and*br*there ain't nothin' you can do about it."*p*There "ain't nothin' you can do" about some situations. It's true*br*with people, too. And with people, we are wise to learn to accept*br*them and love them just the way they are, for they probably won't*br*change much.*p*Sam Keen Christine said, "We come to love not by finding a*br*perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person*br*perfectly." It's all about acceptance.*br* Your Life Support System -8/8/00 Deborah 182 Tue Aug 8 11:45:36 2000 Your Life Support System
