Something of interest Bear Wed Aug 26 20:44:52 1998 I saw this email about a Pagan, Wiccan, and Vodoun boycott of RJR*br*Reymolds, RJR Nabisco, Messina Borwn, and all magazines who are running the Messina/Brown Camel ad, and I thought I would forward it on...*p*What has apparently happened, is that an ad has been published showing three attractive women sticking pins in a doll to get back at a boyfriend over a shattered romance -- with Silver Ravenwolf's TO STIR A MAGICK CAULDRON very much in evidence! The magazines in question are Glamour, Rolling Stone, and Mirabella. Neither Llewellyn World Wide nor Silver Ravenwolf have given consent to the use of her book in such a way, nor has any compensation been offered... The advertisement is pushing Camel cigarettes, a product most health-conscious witches would try to avoid in any case...*p*There is a URL to give you up to date information pertaining to this*br*protest/boycott: please check it out and add your support if so inclined:*br* http://members.aol.com/TDragnhawk/silvercamel.htm*p*Silver Ravenwolf has asked that people write about your displeasure with the ads to the magazines in question, and requesting that the magazines now find space for legitimate articles on Wicca, since they have allowed space to be sold to an advertiser to make fun of our religion.*p*Secondly, please write to the company that manufactures Camel cigaretts and let them know of your displeasure...
