IceWa1ker likes to go outside town (by boat) to an island in the bay *br*<Proins`eaf> each day we focus on the differnt aspicts of our ancesters *br*<Kargach> Lughnasadh! Yay! *br*<IceWa1ker> On the evening of Lughnasadh at least one bonfire is lit and our family plays outside games by the light of that fire & the moon *br*<Proins`eaf> take down the corndollies and make new ones *br*<Proins`eaf> cast offerins to the pit *br*<Proins`eaf> and light the fires *br*<IceWa1ker> offerings are made to Lugh (a patron btw) consisting of bread, fresh water, & silver *br*<Proins`eaf> we do that ale, oats and cream *br*<IceWa1ker> after everyone is tired out from playing games we all sit around the dying fire and tell story's *br*<IceWa1ker> until the kids fall asleep *br*<Proins`eaf> oh and we refresh the wards on the land *br*<Proins`eaf> and i make bannock *br*<Proins`eaf> but no burnt ones LOL *br*<Kargach> We do our big festival at Lughnasadh, so we do all kinds of things. >8) *br*<Taliesin_2> Cool *br*<Taliesin_2> Anything else? *br*<Kargach> We do our annual Champions' Competition, where folks compete in atheletic events to become Grove Champion for the year. *br*<Taliesin_2> What does that entail? *br*<Kargach> Whatever I want, I'm the one who decides which games we do. >80 A foot race, arm wrestling, haggis hurl... *br*<Kargach> We used to do archery, but our insurance company wasn't too happy about that. >8) *br*<Taliesin_2> I bet... *br*<Proins`eaf> well ive heard that haggis can make ya hurl *br*<Kargach> We did a canoe race once, that was a disaster, we haven't tried it since. *br*<Conner_Uh_Neill> I figure we would do games of skill and stamina as well.
