Of course, this does not excuse the conspirators nor any one who tried to protect them. But it does reveal that, in politics, nothing (no one?) is sacred and lies, no matter what their immediate subject, feed on themselves and, ultimately, on the spirit of a nation.*p*--Beirdd*p*
