Re: Quote of the Day Searles Mon Oct 5 00:05:57 1998 I thought that I answered you pretty well in my previous reply. I've snipped all of the extraneous material from your additional questions which I will now answer.*p*The President has not broken any laws. He is accused of lying about having a sexual relationship with Monica Lewinsky. Whether he lied or not is a matter of opinions and has yet to be determined by Congress or any court in this country. Therefore he is presumed innocent until *PROVEN* guilty in a court of law. I don't think there's much dispute that the President was evasive or unwilling to answer questions about his personal affairs to a hostile prosecutor. IMO he wasn't asked questions that were specific enough to prove him guilty of perjury. Whether he is convicted of that is up to the courts or Congress. It's also my opinion that he should not have been subjected to that line of questioning at all. I certainly hope there is an investigation into the conduct of the special prosecutor's office in this matter.*p*My answer to your question is that I think the President is acting in truth and honor towards his job of being President and that he *is* serving the best interests of the country and the will of the majority of the people. I fully expect him to be truthful and honest with the American public about matters of government and foreign policy. I don't expect him to tell me about his personal life, his sex life or any fantasies he may have had. I also don't think he should be tried for things that are no business of the government or the law. I don't think that he should be allowed to be unpunished *if* he has broken the law. On the other hand, I *do* respect him for owning up to having improper behavior with other women during his marriage and presidency. If I'm not mistaken in reading the polls, the majority of the people want him to continue in his job because he is the President of the United States and he *IS* doing a good job.*p*Whether you trust him or not is a personal matter for you to answer for yourself. I trust that your answer will resolve this matter for you so that we can go about the business of improving our lives in The Summerlands and our lives among the People and upon the Land Herself. I know that the Land and the People have been and will continue to be properous within the truth of our leader. That prosperity is the measure of his Truth and the witness of the Land to it.*p*Searles*p*Infiniti wrote,*p*<snip>*br*: For myself, I desire that the *br*: Congress act in truth and faith to the will of the People *br*: and the good of the country.*br*Don't you expect this from your President as well?*br*<snip>*br* *br*: that he has said he did not do - I have to decide now if I *br*: should trust him in those statements, or was he lying there *br*: too.*br*:*br*<snip>*br* Re: Quote of the Day Infiniti 163 Sun Oct 4 22:29:37 1998
