Is he responsible...? Taliesin_2 Mon Mar 1 00:29:17 1999 Note: To Deb & Searles - If you feel this post too incendiary, please remove at will.*br*----------------------------------------------------------------------*p*While A&E's segment on Druidry was far from complete(let's face it a 1/2 hour segment does little) I found Clive Culbertson's comments interesting. Especially about the spiritual/political war (read: IRA vs the Brits). I can't help but to wonder if this great conflagration in Irish history could have been avoided if St. Padraig(sp?)[Patrick] never brought Christianity to Eire. I realize I may be reading to much into Mr. Culbertson's comments, but one must ponder this. I also realize St. Padraig(sp?) is to the Irish what Jerry Lewis is to the French. I know some may take great offense to this, and I do not apologize. But one must realize some of the world's biggest war's were fought in the name of the Christian God. Individuals have killed in his name as well. Or were willing to(i.e. Salmann(sp?) Rushdie's book Satanic Verses comes to mind). While it may be a question best left for theologians, it is a valid question, IMO.*p*Quote: Voltaire: Never apologize for the truth; when you do, you apologize for the way you feel.
