Archaeoastronomy Club meeting this coming monday night Jehana Sun Jul 11 17:18:36 1999 (Time: 9 pm, eastern time)*p**br*On July 20th we celebrate the thirty year anniversary of the first person to step on the Moon. Just this last weekend, Pete Conrad, the third person to walk on the Moon, died in a tragic motorcycle accident. *p*Do you remember the first walk on the Moon? What were you doing? Or were you merely a mote in your parents' eyes? Is/was the space program important to you? *p*Beyond the space program, what do the stars (and planets, and moons) mean to you as an individual? As a group? As a spiritual thing? We no longer *need* to set our crops, and our supermarket produce shopping, by the patterns of the stars? What meaning can we draw from this knowledge today? On the physical, emotional, and spiritual levels? How can we link this back to our ancestors, in a way that transcends cold facts (if and when we can even discern definitively these cold facts)? *p*I want to do this coming discussion in interactive mode. Come along and share your thoughts, inspirations, and ideas. *p*Thanks. *p*- Jehana*br*
