Below are some ways that you can call, write or fax your congressperson to say that you are opposed to the passage of this attack on the 1st Amendment. The number of the bill is "HJ Res 78". The ACLU has mechanisms in place that make this a very simple process. It is critically important that each and everyone of us contact our representative NOW.*p*The Christian Coalition, Focus on Family and Concerned Women for America -- all of the Religious Right groups -- will be doing the same thing; have NO doubt of that! They have backed this proposed amendment since it came into being last May. They have lied, twisted what the law currently is and generally pulled tactics which violate every sense of decency and ethical norms by which our society operates. Newt Gingrich promised over the weekend that "he has enough votes to get it through". Funny.... the numbers I have right now differ, but not by more than a minute version.*p*Does it stink that we have to play by THEIR rules? Well.... yes..... but I would much prefer using any means necessary to defeat this outrage than allow it to move on to the Senate. NOW is the time for us to act and every voice is important!!
