Stewart Farrar Crosses The Veil Deborah searles@summerlands.com Wed Feb 9 10:43:09 2000 This was just forwarded to me from another list........*p*"Some sad news I am afraid. This was supposed to be kept quiet until after*br*the passing ceremony on Thursday, but somehow it leaked out, so now I have*br*been told to pass the news around. Janet and Gavin ask for some quiet and*br*privacy for the next few days."*p************************p*"Stewart Farrarr passed in his home surrounded by the people he loved at 7am*br*Monday February 7th. While many know Stewart had been ill for some time*br*due to a stroke, few knew the dedication of Janet and Gavin in caring for*br*him at home. *br*Stewart Farrarr was an accomplished author having been in print since 1971.*p*Among his books are numbered fantasy titles, radio and television plays,*br*books on a variety of pagan subjects and of course the book most know as*br*The Witches Bible. Stewart Farrarr lived with his second wife Janet*br*Farrarr in their home in Ireland where the 'veil between Seen and Unseen is*br*very thin' in Herne cottage. One of the founding fathers of modern wicca,*br*he lived his craft and travelled far and wide making himself as accessable*br*as possible, answering questions and teaching all he spoke to something*br*new. Controversial at times and heavily criticized for his publishing with*br*Janet Farrarr of much of Gardners book of shadows, he will be remembered*br*most as an artist, author, poet and smiling but strong Oak King, consort of*br*the Goddess. *p*May his time in the Summerlands be filled with joy and*br*blessings, surrounded by friends."*p*Obituary by Judith Lewis*p*
