In ancient times *br*: did the Druids and Celts prefer clogs or sandals for *br*: footwear? I know that sandals were probably more favored by *br*: the Greeks, but I am curious. Thanks!*p*IMHO the ? is not what ancients cultures wore as footware but what they took off in the act of sacred Discalceation. The thonged sandle was sacrid because it incompassed the ancient symbol of life. Most wore what was climatically efficiant, but for religious or polite usage symbology was at the foremast. The Magi of Medievil times preferred white leather boots & that was probably in the tradition of the Celts/Druids. "keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God" from Ecclesiastes v.1 can be traced back to both Messapotamian & Egyptian litrature. Pythagoras said, " Offer sacrifie and worship with thy shoes off!"*br*B*B*br*Megera Footwear: Clogs or Sandals Taliesin_2 42 Fri May 22 19:54:16 1998 http://www.mindspring.com/~megera GreenWitch Moon Tyme
