Could you explain what you expected, and what you think this information shows? All I see is a perfectly normal fan-ish reaction to a popular movie.*p*Filming in a small town can have a huge impact on the local community. Look at Cong, the Irish town that the John Wayne movie "The Quiet Man" was filmed in. Today, decades after the movie, that's Cong's major claim to fame. They still sell people guides that show where all the various bits were filmed.*p*But I don't see how visitng Burkettsville makes anybody crazy. Heck, if I wasn't on the West Coast, I'd stop by myself. The woods in the movie were lovely. And it would be a trip to actually find the abandonned house that appears in the end of the movie. I sincerely doubt that most visitors are really looking for the Blair Witch -- any more than visitors to Cong expected to see John Wayne. <g>*p*There are certainly people who believe the movie was factual, and some of them undoubtedly visit Burkettsville. But again, I don't see how that makes them crazy, any more than Pagans who say that 9 Million Witches died in the Burning Times. Those are mistakes, not signs of insanity.*p*Jenny*br* Re: The Blair Witch Reaction Taliesin_2 201 Wed Sep 1 23:53:56 1999
