Re: Doreen Valiente Dies Searles Sat Sep 4 13:18:59 1999 I never met the lady, but her life and writing had considerable iinfluence on most who study Pagan ways in regard to Witchcraft. She brought a beauty to the words used often in rituals that have uplifted many a spirit. She lived her religion and her beliefs as truly as a person could do. She is an excellent example for any who would seek beyond the ordinary so that they might find new ways to express spirit in a world sadly lacking in this quality.*p*I trust that she will have year after year of happiness on the Island of Joy and an exuberent childhood in the Land of Youth as she makes her mark on the Island of the Women as well. If perchance she hears our call from the Land of the Living to the Land of the Ever-Living, I hope she'll favor us all with another visit and the treasure of her beautiful spirit.*p*Searles*p**br*Jenny wrote,*br*: Doreen Valiente, the Mother of Wicca, died today.
