North Carolina Child Custody Law Aodhfionn aodhfionn@earthlink.com Wed Sep 27 09:08:13 2000 Greetings, all.*p*Two months ago I was told of a statute in North Carolina stating that in Child Custody Cases where one parent was Christian and the other was not, the Christian Parent will always be given custody. I've spent the past two months trying to find this law, and have yet to find anything worded exactly like that, though I still have a lot of text to go through. *p*However, I did recently find the following at the website for the Rosen Law Firm in North Carolina (http://www.rosen.com/childcustody2.htm#1):*p*"Judges consider a variety of factors in determining which parent is entitled to custody including the age of the child, the time each parent has available to spend with the child, the stability of the parents, efforts by either parent to undermine the other parent, abductions, moves out of state, facilitation of visitation and involvement of the other parent, child abuse and neglect, drug and alcohol problems, religion, non-marital sexual relationships and the preferences of the children."*p*The specific mention of religion in this explanation of custody determination gives me reason to suspect that what I was told was accurate. I plan to continue exploring this, but would appreciate any help anyone can give regarding verification of this blatant religious discrimination. If anyone has the time to find the actual law, please inform me.*p*Thank you.*br*Aodhfionn
