Definition
- ecliptic
The great circle extension of the Earth's orbit upon the celestial sphere; the same as the apparent yearly path
of the Sun in the sky.
- equinox
One of two points of intersection between the celestial equator and
the ecliptic. (Approximately March 21 and September 23rd; the dates when day and night
are of equal length.)
- ethnoastronomy
The study of celestial events and objects as seen by various cultures, past and present, through their myths, legends,
and rituals.
