Welcome To Our Home

The Tower Room

Come on in, relax and enjoy the fire.

Hello. Welcome to our home. Please relax and make yourself comfortable. Feel free to wander around and look the place over. Warm your hands by the fire and acquaint yourself with us by using the various items in the room.

The Portrait over the mantelpiece gives welcome to our new members and a general orientation for them.  We *Highly Recommend* making this one of your first stops, as it will enable you to know how things work and where stuff is located ... and who to yell at if they don't or it's not! <G>

The Book on the table is our Members' Directory. With the directory, you can browse through our members who have chosen to list themselves and see what like-minded folks we have here who you might enjoy meeting.  See who's living in your state or country. There are direct links to individual emails on each profile and a link back to the fast java applet to our chat room. We can even put our pictures up there so we can see what each other looks like.

The Calendar.  As a help to our members in remembering those special days and occasions, like birthdays and anniversaries, we've established a Birthdays, Anniversaries, and Special Events Calendar that is exclusively for the members' use in posting such information. We hope to know you all better and where better to start than on your birthday?

The Paper and Pen on the table will take you to the message board for the Tower Room.  We recommend that  you 'subscribe' to this board (if you don't to any other) because this is where Summerlands "business and announcements" are posted.  And if you just want to settle in and have a nice long chat,  just sit on ...

The Couch and you will arrive at our community chat channel.  This is the Java and/or ActiveX based link to our actual IRC room.   If you don't already have IRC software, check in the New Members Orientation and follow those directions about Chatting.  If you've already got the software but are having problems, questions, or the danged thing is making you crazy... then come in through this portal and we'll see if we can help you get set up and running right.

Please feel free to click around to your heart's content. If you would like to visit the other sites here at the Summerlands, just click on the NAVBAR at the bottom of the screen and it will take you wherever you wish to go.

We've set this room up to be explored, experienced, and hopefully appreciated by our friends and family who drop by for a cup and a chat. We're very glad you're here.
